While previously known cervical spine trainers cause a rotatory backward tilting of the head, the Dr. Wolff Cervex 506 trains a translational movement. The translational movement primarily trains the posture-stabilizing muscles of the cervical and thoracic spine. The exerciser primarily activates the longissimus thoracis muscle, the long portion of the back extensor muscles in the cervical and thoracic spine. This muscle is particularly relevant for posture-improving training.
Designed to meet the specific requirements of cervical spine training, the device features a low-friction, smooth-running lever system. The adjustable ergonomic seat and backrest facilitates operation, while the patented lever system arrangement facilitates translational movement. Functional dorsal extension provides physiological training of the back extensors in the cervical and thoracic spine.
